Well it’s my home country and it’s amazing - Of all destinations we have enjoyed, there so many more that we need to experience in Canada ourselves.
Canada is so large with an equally large diversity of climate, geography and it’s people, that there are endless possibilities for vacation planning. While most of the world has an impression of Canada as a heavily forested (or ice covered) land, overrun with moose and beavers. (It took a lot of years before l saw my first moose). Maple syrup and Canadian Back Bacon eating lumberjacks are really a part of our heritage, but there are several “world-class” cities with abundant culture as well. Vacation plans can include beautiful wilderness mountain lodges in Banff, Alberta, spectacular seaside vacations on east or west coast, and dynamic cosmopolitan cities, and well as others with old world charm like Quebec City.
Canadians are particularly famous for their politeness, and even city living can be friendly and helpful. When we travel abroad, we tend to get big smiles when asked where we come from.
(Note: Canada has such a large land mass, that tourists often imagine taking in more of the country than is possible in a single vacation. You cannot fly into Toronto and drive out to Vancouver without several full days of driving.!! So, plan what area is a good introduction and focus on that.!)

Canadian SURVIVAL SAYINGS & PHRASES Guide

Like most places, Canadian citizens have a secret language of their own. If you are planning a trip to Canada, this handy guide will give you the tools to negotiate the Canadian landscape like a local.

Ontario

This my home province, so l am listing it first because l LOVE it.
Ontario has more than a third of the country’s population, and is the second largest province. (As most American like to compare everything to the size of Texas - it is about 50% larger.!) Ontario is well known for its most cosmopolitan city, Toronto, but also is home to the nation’s capital Ottawa.

Quebec

Canada’s largest province and second most populated - it is a province of mainly French-speaking population.
Historically, Quebec was the location for French-English conflict for control of what became Canada. Even today, there have been two separate referendum votes for Quebec independence from Canada. (Which did not pass).

Atlantic Provinces

Canada’s Atlantic region is known for its fantastic coasts and famous hospitality
The Atlantic provinces are made up of four provinces - Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia & Prince Edward Island. ‘Maritimers’ are made up from a number of immigrants from Scottish, Irish, English, and Acadian (French speaking)

Western Provinces

Canada’s Rocky Mountains dominate the tourism in the west, but there is so much more to see.
Western Canada includes the four provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan - with the central part being known as the Prairie provinces.

Northern Territories

Making up more than a third of Canada’s total land area, but is home to less than 1% of Canada’s population.!!
The North, (as it is known) is the vast northernmost region of Canada made up of three territories of the Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut. Traditionally home to the Inuit native people, who were hunters, fishers and trappers establishing the North American fur “trade” with the Hudson’s Bay Company in 1670.

Did You Know There is a Massive Stockpile of Maple Syrup?

Canada is famous for its maple syrup industry - in fact the province of Quebec alone, produces almost 75% of the total WORLD supply.!!!
So it almost no surprise that, to keep it flowing, the Quebec Maple Syrup Producers (QMSP)  - who control the Global Strategic Maple Syrup Reserve - makes sure it keeps more than 45 million kilograms of maple syrup in its warehouses to keep it flowing.!
