It may seem surprising to find a section on organized tours - since l pride myself on researching the next big travel plans, and trying to find fascinating and unique experiences, and it came as quite surprise (to us) how much we enjoyed group tours as well.!! (Very much like our surprise when we did our first cruise)

The organized tour experience is very much different that other kinds of travel. Again, the same as a cruise, tour people are a different breed. I would say they are generally travellers that want to have everything planned out for them, and they WANT to be instructed where to be and when, and have every facet set out so that there are no surprises.

The idea of following your guide through winding streets and watching for that bright yellow umbrella, is not everyone’s idea of a vacation. (We have always laughed at the “umbrella” tourists following blindly in a tight group, never more than a step apart, and stopping to all take the same photo before moving on)
BUT, once again we have had a couple of organized tours that have been terrific experiences, we have even become close friends with some fellow travellers, who get together for dinners and even travelled together again.  (I highly recommend a group tour in a place like China, that is so intense and such a language issue, let alone just trying to make your way around.)

China Tour - 12-Day Charm of China & Yangtze River Tour

Our Charm of China Tour & Yangtze River (Three Gorges) Cruise with our wonderful tour guide, Ruoyi (Johnny) Feng was a wonderful time and we enjoyed the entire tour and cruise immensely, it was another of those vacations that were an extreme cultural experience.
Review the list of some of the highlights, that I think are pretty common among many of the tour operators.

8 Day Classic Ecuador & Amazon Adventure

Our 8 Day Classic Ecuador & Amazon Adventure was truly an “on-the-go” program featuring the highlights of Ecuador in an active itinerary including several walking tours as well as some early starts and long days. The route covered an isolated Ecuadorian Amazon resort and visit to a local Quechua family and learn about their way of life. But, most of the trip was exploring through the Avenue Of The Volcanoes, which always had amazing views, wherever we were.

Royal Irish Manor Tour

Royal Irish Tours, (who happens to be headquartered here in Toronto), put together a magnificent Manors Tour for us, that was a little more money, but was worth every dollar.!! As their website says, “we pride ourselves on the unparalleled, personal experiences that we make possible through our strong familiarity with the land and its locals. The care we have for Ireland will be evident throughout every detail of your tour.”.. and it is true...
***I would highly recommend Royal Irish Tours as they delivered a truly memorable tour vacation.
