Photography has always been a passion of mine - probably as an extension of my graphic design background.
Many of the images used on the website are my own or used from sites that I have linked. But also as a designer, I have great respect for other people’s copyright, especially museums and sites that restrict photography - and I strictly obey those rules, and encourage others to do the same. Don’t be the rude tourist who takes photos, even after being asked not to. Stop and enjoy the art. (in other cases where photos are not my own, I have added photo credit, or the images come directly from the website links that are being promoted - usually when when weather was not cooperative for good travel pics, or for aerial views etc.)

Each of the Destinations pages have a collection of photos to try and capture a little of the “feel” of each place.
Many of my photos seen here (and many more), are available to purchase on iStock Photography by Getty Images. These are royalty-free images to use for personal AND COMMERCIAL projects on an ongoing basis without requiring additional payments each time you use that content.

Best Quote about Photography

I don’t know how many times I wanted to approach someone taking a family vacation picture, and suggest that maybe they move a little so that a dumpster would not appear in the background of their photo.!!

I think the best - and most simple quote, was by the great photographer Ansel Adams, who said
“A good photograph is knowing where to stand.”

Who Doesn’t LOVE Sunset Pictures

But, to be honest it you dug up all your beautiful sunset photography over all your travel vacations, l would be surprised if you could even tell one from another... it probably looks like the sun going down over ANY large body of water.Don’t get me wrong, l am a big fan of sunsets, it’s just that if you catch a boat or trees in the foreground, it will have some significance, as to where it was taken, and you will feel much more connection with it.

Additionally, I always like to turn around and get images of the spectacular lighting that sunsets create on buildings and other surroundings. The colours and textures are amazing, and add a warmth to photos that can only be found in the early morning and late evening.
