Ontario

A widely diverse number of regions include large cities, extensive farming and wine growing areas, but the majority of the province is Northern Ontario, which is most quintessentially Canadian, - dense forests, mining and wilderness.
Of course, probably the most desirable tourist destination is Niagara Falls, as well as Niagara Wine Country, cosmopolitan Toronto, recreational activities and Cottage Country make Ontario a great choice to visit.

Toronto (and the Greater Toronto Area - GTA)

Where to begin about my hometown of Toronto.?
Canada’s largest city and the country’s financial centre located on the beautiful Lake Ontario waterfront. (Sort of the New York City of Canada - where we are perceived as thinking we are the centre of the country). Famously diverse neighbourhoods include Greek, Italian, and Korean and the second-largest Chinatown in North America, (just to name a few) so it is natural that the variety of restaurants and cultural events are endless.

Niagara Falls and the Niagara Wine Region

Of course, top of any visitor's list to Southern Ontario (or Canada) is a trip to see the famous Niagara Falls.!!
Known as the ”Honeymoon Capital of the World” for more than 215 years.! It is said that in 1801, the daughter of future U.S. Vice President, Aaron Burr travelled to the Falls on her “Bridal Tour” that started the trend.

Ontario “Cottage Country”

To many, the cottage country in Ontario is the quintessential Muskoka region
The idea of “Cottage Country” is representative of getting away from urban and work life and relaxing for a weekend (or week or more away) on a staycation in your own province, but these regions are also fantastic destinations for those visitors dreaming of sharing the experience.

Bruce Peninsula & Manitoulin Island

A beautiful and a little more undiscovered vacation area
Easily accessible from Toronto as a day trip destination for the Bruce Peninsula - a ferry ride or main highway drive to Manitoulin for a longer stay - this area is awondrous surprise.

Ontario Southwest

The Lake Huron beaches are one of the best kept secrets.
Complete with, something like 900km of shoreline with beaches and historic lighthouses, the region is also a collection of lush farmland as well as a growing wine and craft beer scene.

Prince Edward County

Just an easy 2 1/2 hour drive from Toronto, Prince Edward County has become a trendy vacation destination.
Prince Edward County (often called ‘the County’ or simply PEC) has almost 40 wineries, locally sourced restaurants, shops and festivals offer visitors an abundance of activities - the Toronto newspaper, The Globe and Mail, named Prince Edward County "the Gastronomic Capital of Ontario".

Ottawa Region

The nation’s capital city at the beautiful location on the south bank of the Ottawa River
Although I have not been to Ottawa in some time, it is a fascinating tourist attraction, with one of the highlights as the recently reopened Library of Parliament, one of the most beautiful buildings in Canada, after a four-year renovation.

Northern Ontario

This is the ideal location for those who thrive on outdoor adventure..!!
With over 800,00 square kilometres of sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and nearly to 250,000 lakes - there is an endless collection of travel ideas for the adventure seekers. The area is covered in vast forests and some of earth’s oldest rocks - the Canadian Shield - outcrops of beautiful pink and grey granite.
