What can l say about the United States of America.?   Canada and the USA have enjoyed the most “friendly” border in the world.
I believe it is the longest shared undefended border, making for a love-hate relationship over the years, (since who can compete with the world super-power.?) Always a friendly rivalry, but it’s been compared to the elephant and the mouse.!
Travelling in the USA has always been a pleasure with friendly and helpful people. And, much like Canada, the distances between places is vast, with VERY different regions and people. With the strong dollar on world markets, many countries will find it expensive for vacations, due to their dollar/euro in comparison. There can be more reasonable travel plans if you visit outside of the top tourist destinations like New York City, or Los Angeles.
I think that l would have to say that one of my favourite areas is in the Carolinas on the east coast as it has some of the best golfing as well as lots of sun and sand, and some of the friendliest people.. but as far as cities, you can’t go wrong with NYC, Chicago, New Orleans and Boston.
(Note: The USA has such a large land mass, that tourists often imagine taking in more of the country than is possible in a single vacation. You cannot fly into Boston and drive out to LA without several full days of driving.!! So, plan what area is a good introduction and focus on that.!)

New York City, New York

I understand that a visit to New York City is powerful draw for many.!!
Maybe the Big Apple, being the largest U.S. city, and in many people’s mind, also the most influential American centre - as the financial world revolves around the money on Wall Street. - but, for me, (maybe coming from a big city myself) I really don’t get the attraction.. (probably because I am not a shopper)...But, having said that, our visit to NYC was a lot of fun and it is a city that has a lot to offer tourists.!

Washington, DC

Washington, District of Columbia, is a great destination full of fascinating history and well worth a visit.
Surprisingly, the heart of political power in the United States is a very walkable city, with easy accessibility to all the major attractions and museums within the concentrated core of the city.

Chicago, Illinois

Known as the “Windy City” because of it location on the western shores of Lake Michigan.
This city is historically notorious for its American Prohibition-era gangster past - with famous gangsters like Al Capone and Bugs Moran - but today is a welcomingworld-class city, well worth a visit.

Las Vegas, Nevada

What can I say about Las Vegas - it is definitely the most outrageously over-the-top city I have ever seen.!!
Las Vegas is very popular with travellers from all around the world, with about 42 million visitors a year.!! Accommodations are plentiful - with something like 150,000 rooms available, there is definitely something for everyone’s taste and budget.

New Orleans, Louisiana

If Las Vegas is the most outrageously over-the-top city I have ever seen - then New Orleans is a very close second.!!
Famous for its unique Cajun cuisine, outrageous Mardi Gras festivities and fabulous jazz music - most tourists want to stay and explore the French Quarter, wandering the infamous Bourbon Street, enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride.

Grand Canyon National Park

I think the most incredible thing about visiting the Grand Canyon is the unimaginable size, even as you stand there seeing it with your own eyes - the depth of the canyon is about a mile (1.6 km) from the rim down to the Colorado River - and up to 18 miles (29 km) at the widest points.!!!
It is a great trip that should be on everyone's "bucket list"

Walt Disney World and Orlando

I believe that a Disney vacation is right up there on the list for most Americans - as a pilgrimage of sorts, much like seeing the Grand Canyon, or a trip to Alaska.
The Walt Disney World vacations include Orlando, Florida, Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, and Disney Cruises from multiple locations. “Whatever You Wish - Wherever You Dream - Lets GO There” the websites promote. And, I must say Disney DOES deliver a special experience for the little ones -and even the parents.!!!

(Note: Universal Orlando also offers amazing vacations with a similar combination of rides and attractions)

Alaska

Alaska is another vacation that is right up there on the list for most Americans to visit in their lifetime - as it reflects the rugged pioneer spirit that opened up the new frontier. This destination is a fascinating look into the past and allows visitors to experience real wilderness.
We happened to do it from the comfort of lodges and a cruise ship.!!
